For an ambitious college student, it’s a paid, microinternship that doesn’t require travel, relocation, or coffee runs. For an employer, it’s a way to get actual work accomplished and find future personnel.   “It’s a way for students to be test driving careers while they are still in college,” according to TestTracks co-founder, Tony Ray Meyer. Tony Ray Meyer and Rich Mangione started TestTracks two years ago. The program was initially exclusive to students at Harvard, Tony and Rich’s alma mater, as well as Georgetown, Duke, Berkeley, and Carnegie Melon. This spring, TestTracks will be accessible to students from any college across the country. “It’s a low commitment way to test out if you want to go into fields like entertainment, finance, or consulting; and for companies, it’s helping them find students…especially from colleges that they may not be recruiting from already,” Meyer stated. March 2015 M3 Mixer at NY Botanical Gardens

Spring has sprung at the New York Botanical Garden’s Orchid Show , making it the perfect escape from the menacing snow falling on the first day of the much-anticipated new season. The orchids blossomed overhead Thursday night at the NYBG Chandeliers exhibit, creating an exquisitely picturesque and aromatic atmosphere for this month’s NGLCCNY Members’ Monthly Mixer. Glenn Reimer is the Events Chair for the NGLCCNY.  He said that having the M3 at the New York Botanical Garden is special.  “It’s an amazing space because you are surrounded by flowers and beauty and color from around the world that you don’t normally see in Manhattan, so it’s well worth the trip,” Reimer stated.  This is the 4 th year in a row for the NYBG to hold an M3, making them a legacy host. The NYBG works with the LGBT community events throughout the year.
