Since 2009, dotgay LLC , an NGLCCNY active member, has been advocating for a community model to the operation of .GAY when it arrives, consisting of community governance that allows for a focus on community interest, while developing value and benefit for registrants and end users. The mission for the .GAY community model is to address needs in areas of safety, visibility and support for LGBTQIA+ people. dotgay’s commitment to ICANN and the community is that 67% of profits from domain names sales will go back to the community through a dotgay foundation.
