Founder & CEO, Stone Search
Michael Stone is Founder and CEO of Stone Search, a boutique executive search firm focused on clients’ needs for Cisco Network and VoIP Engineers, Application Developers, Senior Project Managers, as well as other IT Professionals.
Starting Stone Search in 2001 was not unexpected, Stone said. He had been an entrepreneur throughout his life, focusing on finding opportunity and filling unmet needs in the market. While attending Hofstra University, he manufactured and sold Waterproof Scrunchies to Long Island beach goers.
Fifteen years later, with hundreds of clients and thousands of IT Professionals placed throughout the country, Stone successfully places full time and contract candidates using his team of recruiters, “they assist within the hiring process, delivering highly skilled and qualified candidates,” he said. Stone describes his process as nurturing for both clients and candidates, “handholding everyone through this highly important process.” Stone’s clients include ING, Custom Computer Specialists, Presidio, Fordham University, Equinox Fitness to name a few. Stone comments, “There is no better feeling than making clients and candidates happy. It’s the best part of the job,” he stated.
Stone Search has been a certified LGBTBE of the NGLCCNY for the past 8 years. Membership enables him to connect with clients, candidates and other members. “We engage with hundreds of companies, and many times, are hired to recruit on their behalf.”
Michael lives in Greenwich Village with his husband, who he met at summer camp in 1983, and reconnected with later in life at an Equinox Spin Class. Michael is self proclaimed NYC Foodie, and in his spare time indulges in everything from neighborhood favorites to the newest dining scenes. The only thing that tops his passion for business and food is his car collection. Of his restored 1980s Mercedes’, Stone favors his 1982 380 SL in navy blue…his Bobby Ewing car.
