NGLCCNY Names New Executive Director

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and NGLCCNY are excited to welcome Derrick M. Brown as Executive Director for NGLCCNY. Brown will begin his role as NGLCCNY’s first full-time Executive Director on April 15, 2013.

"We are thrilled to have Derrick on board to build on a strong foundation and to ensure that LGBT and allied business members and corporate partners receive the first-class customer service and growth opportunities they have come to expect from NGLCC nationally,"  said Justin Nelson, NGLCC Co-Founder and President.

Brown is no stranger to the LGBT chamber movement or LGBT supplier diversity certification, having served on the North Texas GLBT Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for seven years, including three years as Chairman.

Before relocating to New York with his husband last year, Brown served as the Executive Director of the Kraddick Foundation in Dallas, TX, where he was responsible for a $3.8 million budget and oversaw all aspects of strategic direction, management, and coordination of the organization's mission and supporting activities, including events and member cultivation and retention.

"I'm very excited to have Derrick and his commitment and knowledge of supplier diversity in this role," said David Ricciardi, Chair of the Supplier Diversity Committee and a member of the NGLCCNY Steering Committee. "It means great things for our LGBT certified suppliers, our business members, and our corporate partners.”

Join us at the April 17th M3 event at the Bronx Botanical Gardens to meet Brown in person!
