ERG Roundtable Serves Up Value

Every other month, the Employee Resource Group (ERG) Roundtable Breakfast convenes to discuss some of the issues members are facing within their organizations. These Breakfasts provide guidance for ERGs, regardless of where they are in their development cycle. Co-chairs Neil Cerbone, President of Neil Cerbone Associates, and George Carrancho, Manager of Diversity Markets for American Airlines set the stage for engaging, comprehensive discussions benefitting everyone in attendance.


The goal of the ERG Roundtable is to continuously improve the measurable value, impact, and reach of LGBT ERGs by providing best of breed thought leadership, sharing cross-company resources and pioneering new best practices. With that guiding principle in mind, the peer-led conversations scheduled for 2013 have been set to explore a series of specific new challenges, all of which were determined by the 2012 attendees. A number of these topics will include ERG Funding Models, Global & Ally inclusion, and the ERG business case. Other topics will be added, determined by the evolving ERG landscape.

“The Roundtable has brought clarity to our ERG efforts at Avon,” says Doug Jensen, Vice President, Global Analytics at Avon. “Through the Roundtable we see what issues matter to our peer corporations. We leverage this information in creating plans with our Global Inclusion Office. The Roundtable has also given us connections and relationships with other ERG leaders. The time we spend at the ERG Roundtable is highly valuable.”

Leaders from ERG, Diversity and Inclusion and Supplier Diversity/Human Resources teams have been attending and providing their insights throughout these engagements. They will continue to have an open invitation to any and all upcoming Roundtables scheduled for the coming months.

The 2013 dates are: February 26, April 23, June 25, August 27, October 22 and December 17.
