The NGLCCNY Social Impact Industry Council is pleased to announce its second annual Board Retreat on Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at The Standard High Line.
Among the challenges facing non-profits, none is as crucial as the elusive yet much talked-about concept of board performance. A high functioning board is a key driver of organizational success that often seems impossible to achieve.

“Is There Such a Thing as a High-Performing Board?” is precisely the question we will explore.
The day will be dedicated to investigating:
• Why have a laser-focused board – what becomes possible?
• What are the best practices to promote effective board engagement?
• How can a board drive its organization to have greater impact?
If you, or someone you know, is currently on the board of directors of a non-profit serving the LGBT community and would like to be considered to participate in this thought-provoking, day-long inquiry, please complete this brief questionnaire: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/V6CDCKN.
In addition to the day’s programming, we will host an intimate dinner on Friday, January 11, 2013 at The Standard High Line, reserved to board members who have been selected to participate in the next day’s Retreat. Space is limited for both events. All nominations must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012 to the attention of email@example.com.
