Are soaps dead? If you base the answer from coverage on CNN or major news outlets, then you could believe that serialized story telling has gone the way of the typewriter or vinyl records. Here at We Love Soaps TV (welovesoaps.com) we know different. Continuing stories in and around New York have only proliferated in recent years, and are now being developed exclusively for viewing on the Internet. For the third year in a row, We Love Soaps TV is honoring the very best in excellent achievements in serialized content developed exclusively for the Internet during the annual "Indie Soap Awards."
This year's live event will be held on Tuesday, February 21st, at New World Stages (on 50th between 8th/9th), in Manhattan. There will be a full Stand & Repeat red carpet ceremony beginning 7pm sharp, followed by the award presentations between 8pm-10pm, and a networking reception afterward at the venue. Many of the nominees are members of the GLBT community, including Sebastian La Cause, Tom Gregory, Anthony Anderson, and Susan Miller. We would love for NGLCCNY members to attend the event, celebrate innovations in creativity, and enjoy the awards.
If people wish to attend, they can purchase tickets at http://welovesoaps.com/isa. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses who wish to be listed in the program, the red carpet Step & Repeat, and during the ceremony. Contact Jacobs@welovesoaps.net for more information.
