Jay Dellacona, owner Focus Events and Catering
With two decades of experience, Jason (Jay) Dellacona has become one of the go-to event planners and caterers for corporate and social events nationally.
Jay started his career at the high end boutique catering firm, Mark of Excellence Catering , located in the greater NYC area. Jay started his career as a bus boy and was continually promoted to eventually become the Director of Operations and Events. His client list read like a “Who’s Who” of the New York social and business scene.
Jay then joined a premiere staffing agency in the Hamptons, At Your Service Staffing, where he organized staffing resources for large corporate, social and political events. For the prominent East End high society staffing agency, Jay also drove business development securing large exclusive staffing contracts allowing the company to branch out into additional regional markets which included Boston , Washington DC, as well as, a sister company in London.
In 2005, Jay launched Focus Events & Catering - a full service catering and event management firm based in New York City. Focus Events & Catering has successfully partnered on events, with many well known local full service event caterers such as Robbin’s Wolfe Eventeurs and Restaurant Associates, as well as, local boutique caterers such as Catering by Framboise.
On the corporate side, Jay has planned high-profile events for Range Rover, GE, Jaguar, Target and Carnival Cruises - just to name a few. He also has a long and loyal list of private clients in both the tri-state and nationally.
In addition to his corporate and client projects, Jay has worked, and is currently still working, as a strategic consultant for major sporting events such as the ultra prestigious Masters Golf Tournament and US Open. Jay also managed all front- of- the -house operations for USA House in Turin, Italy during the 2006 Winter Games while consulting with Culinary Expressions International.
Jay is always busy with the events industry but his passion for philanthropic works drives his free time. Jay has been instrumental in the non-for profit area planning events for the YMCA helping inner city kids and is a lead supporter of their “Strong Kids” campaign across the entire tri-state area and still maintains strong support today. He has also assisted the local chapter of The March of Dimes - raising funds for awareness to help babies. He also supports grass roots organizations such as Live out Loud which reaches out to young LGBT youth and empowers them to live their lives openly and freely as well as ECHO- Emergency Children’s Health Organization in their effort to help families with real financial assistance in challenging economic times for children in extreme situations.
